and boy, did they go over well! I changed the recipe up a little so my little allergy boy could have them too.
Ingredients -
4 1/2 cups Chex Corn cereal
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter *I used Sunbutter
2 T. butter or margarine (I use Smart Balance)
1/2 t. vanilla
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup candy corn (I used the Caramel flavored)
1 cup salted cocktail peanuts *I replaced these with Cheerios!
1. In a large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1 quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, Sunbutter and butter uncovered on High for 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave 15 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 1-gallon Ziploc bag.
3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag, shake until well coated. Add candy corn and Cheerios, shake to mix. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in fridge. (we had NO leftovers!)
Quick and easy Halloween treat!
And you should really make these...
One of my favorite cookies I've ever made! They were so awesomely gross. In fact, none of the kids would eat them! hahahah
The recipe can be found HERE.
Have a spooktacular weekend! (I just couldn't resist. I'm so candy corn-y!)
Looks yummy.

What a good idea to replace peanuts with Cheerios! I'm always on the look out for fun, safe treats for my peanut allergic daughter. Thanks for sharing!
