Chili's Review and Girls Day Out!

My girls and I had a "girls only" day this past weekend.  Since the arrival of Mr. Two, we don't get many of those.  We got Daddy to keep the little man while me and my girls took off for a little shopping and to "do lunch"!  I was given a $20 gift card by Chili's not long ago to fascilitate a review of their new Wild or Mild menu, so that's where we headed.  Do you have a Chili's near you?  If not, I'm sorry.  You should move.  Okay, I'm kidding.  But everyone should check out the website http://www.shoutouttoeatout.com/.   Chili's has a contest going on right now, where you can go to the website and create a WILD or MILD avatar and you could win a $20 gift card or a trip to Disney or Vegas!  I know, right?!  How cool would that be?  If you win the trip you should take me with you, since I'm telling you about it and all.  It's only fair.

So what are your tastebuds? Wild or Mild?!  What does wild or mild mean you ask?  (you're totally asking that right? B/c you are so enthralled with my post...and can't wait to read more.  right?)  Well I'm glad you asked ;) Chili’s has added new wild and mild menu items that have ramped up spices or cooled down flavors from their original recipes - like the Jalapeno Chicken Quesadillas (wild) or Bacon Ranch Chicken Quesadillas (mild).

My kids and husband are definitely on the boring MILD side.  But me, I like to kick it up a notch.  Live on the wild side ;)  Speaking of the kiddies...I was impressed with the Chili's Kids Menu.
They had lots of choices and healthy side dish options.  It was refreshing to see something on the kids menu other than fried chicken pieces and french fries!  My kids surprised me with their choices...
Miss Two ordered the kids pizza and steamed broccoli!!
Number One got the mac & cheese (no surprise there) and mandarin oranges!
I was the one that ended up with fries!!
Not only french fries, but some seriously yummy fried onions.
But I shared my fries.  (and by sharing I mean they each got two)
Guess which side my meal came from?  I'll give you a hint...
yep, those are jalapenos! I'm a wild woman
I got the Blazin' Big Mouth Bites. How appropriate.  They come with a jalapeno mayo, but I got that on the side.  I'm not that wild.  Actually, I'm not a big fan of mayonnaise, but wanted to give it a try.  The food was really good and there was so much of it, I ate 2 of my sliders and took the other two home (which were devoured that night by Miss Two, sans jalapenos of course!)  And the ranch dressing that came with it....it was so good, I wanted to bathe in it.  I tried to only eat a little, b/c I'm sure it was not fat free, but it was so fresh tasting.  Miss Two used some for her broccoli too.
The girls took forever to eat b/c they kept giggling and playing.  They had a really good time!
And I was the best mom ever when I ordered this.  Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie I think it was called.  Girls got down to business then.  It was each man girl for herself.  One dessert, 3 spoons.
That dessert was history in record time.  Miss Two is making sure there is NONE left :)  I would really like to have that chocolate chip cookie about now.  And I may have contemplated licking that plate

So my review? um....awesome!  It's a fun promotion going on, so you should really go check out the site, and create your avatar!  And there is lots of variety on the Chili's menu, so there should be something for everyone.  A big thanks to Chili's for giving me and my little girls a fun (and tasty) lunch out!
