First, a craft. This is not an original idea, not even to my own blog! I posted about this around Christmas, but I've made another one, and I think they are so cute and worth a second mention for anyone who may have missed it which looking at the responses would be a whole bunch of people ;)
Camera strap covers. I have a thing for them. I think they're awesome! I still had mine on from Christmas, and since I'm all about changing things up for spring, I decided a new camera strap was definitely in order. For the original post, including links to tutorials, go HERE. They are super easy to make, and like I said, they're cute! Especially if you are always carrying your camera around like I am.
All you do is measure out your choice of material. (and just pretend that I know how to iron) I chose this blue and white stripe (one of my husband's old shirts. It's old now anyway.)
Of course, now that I've made this one, I want one that's more "springy" - think bright & gaudy.See, I do know how to iron. Just not my tablecloth. Does anyone other than Martha Stewart actually iron their tablecloths? Mine is just going to get thrown in the washing machine, so what's the point.
The second thing I wanted to share...
How cool does this look? For an awesome recipe (and the inspiration for my bread) check out Holly at 504 Main. I saw this post, and the next time I bought a loaf of french bread I thought hmmm...I, of course, I went with a no-butter-very-little-cheese option due to my lose 20 lbs goal. Of course, I should skip the bread all together, but anyway...
I used this recipe from allrecipes...Olive Oil Dipped Italian Bread
1/4 cup olive oil5 cloves garlic *I skipped, b/c jeez...5 cloves?
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese *I used Asiago
1 tablespoon crushed dried oregano
fresh ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
I just sliced the bread like in Holly's recipe, then poured the olive oil dip into the slices. Baked it in the oven until nice and crusty. The bomb!
And lastly....
Pumpkin Dip...totally out of "season", but I made this Superbowl weekend for a low fat somethin' somethin'. Super simple, and very tasty. You need to make it ahead of time and let it sit in the fridge a few hours for all the flavors to 'mingle'. I used a container of Fat Free Cool Whip, 1/2 can of pumpkin, 1 t. of pumpkin pie spice, 1 t. of cinnamon and abt 4 oz FF Cream Cheese (softened). Mixed it all together and dipped reduced fat Ginger Snaps in it. It was tasty.
So that's my random post! For Tuesday linkys - go here. Holla.
