you can use any brownie mix and you need 15 oz pureed pumpkin (this is the large can, so I used half). Mix the two ingredients together - no additions needed. Place in whatever size pan you want, I used a mini muffin pan to make 'brownie bites'. The perfect size for this guy...
Mr. Three is giving them a taste test...
he loves chocolate.
Can't imagine where he gets that from ;)
he crams the entire thing in his mouth...a sure sign that it gets his seal of approval. (Which is very difficult to come by!)
one happy vampire boy. He ate 3 before I cut him off!
Now, these are super simple. They are egg free. The kids loved them. So, I will definitely use this trick again. Me personally....I didn't like them. They are very dense and moist with the slightest hint of pumpkin flavor. I mean, they aren't bad, I just didn't care for them. However, I didn't make them for me, I made them for the kiddos, who gave them a 'thumbs up'!

ReplyDeleteYep, these are a favorite at our house! I can't believe how good they are (only mine are made with a chocolate cake mix). I did a post about them (below), but I'll be updating it soon to include a great homemade chocolate cake mix recipe.

I'll bet I could try that with a gluten free cake mix too. What a great idea. thanks.
ReplyDeleteI've had these before and they are okay. They are really dense and chocolatey. I like a more cake like brownie.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower hopping over from Shugary Sweets. Your son has the best smile! Smart idea adding the pumpkin to the cake mix!! I am trying this recipe!

Not a real fan of packaged brownie mix..but, these are worth a try
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy them! My kids eat them up.
DeleteHow long do you bake these and at what temperature?
ReplyDeleteTime depends on the size pan you are using, but you can follow the guidelines on your brownie box. I also baked them at the recommended temp, which I think was 350 F.
