and boy, did they go over well! I changed the recipe up a little so my little allergy boy could have them too.
Halloween {Muddy} Buddies
- 4 1/2 cups Chex Corn cereal
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup
peanut butter*I used Sunbutter - 2 T. butter or margarine (I use Smart Balance)
- 1/2 t. vanilla
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup candy corn (I used the Caramel flavored)
- 1 cup
salted cocktail peanuts*I replaced these with Cheerios!
- In a large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
- In 1 quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, Sunbutter and butter uncovered on High for 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave 15 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.
- Pour into 1-gallon Ziploc bag.
- Add powdered sugar. Seal bag, shake until well coated.
- Add candy corn and Cheerios, shake to mix. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in fridge. (we had NO leftovers!)
