Is this button not adorable?! Link up HERE to share your favorite holiday drink!
I am super excited that Think Tank Momma chose my idea for this week's theme!! I really wanted a holiday drink edition, not because I have some fabulous recipes to share, but because I really need some ideas!! And I like to drink. I am hosting a Christmas gathering very soon, and I'm always at a loss as to what punch and drinks to have. So help me out people!! It can be whatever you like, hot/cold, alcoholic or non, punches, lattes, ciders and the list goes on!
My favorites are Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks, which I have yet to make at home, but am going to try very soon, and mulled cider, which my mom always has ready around Christmas time. Think Tank Momma has posted a wonderful sounding peppermint hot cocoa and a mulled cider, so check them out!
My "go-to" holiday punch recipe is sooo easy I'm embarrassed to post it. Well, not really, I don't get embarrassed, but it is super super simple - and...it tastes pretty good! It's mainly for the kids, and they sure drink it up, and you can always splash some Vodka or something in it to make an "adult" version. Not that I've ever done that. hehehe. I may or may not be the one who has to put her drink up high and tell the kids "don't drink out of mommy's cup". This year I'll just tell them it has tofu in it. You have to follow my blog to understand that one.
So enough chit chat...the "recipe"
1 (2 liter) bottle fruit punch, chilled *I use Light Hawaiin Punch
1 (64 fluid ounce) bottle orange juice, chilled
1 (2 liter) bottle diet ginger ale, chilled
In a punch bowl, combine fruit punch and orange juice. Slowly pour ginger ale down the side of the bowl to retain carbonation.
That's it. That's all there is to it, and it always goes over well.
Now it's your turn, if you haven't linked up already, hook a sista up and get me some recipes :)
I love the holidays! Great theme, love me some punch!
ReplyDeleteAND I love the new holiday look!
I love ogling new drink recipes. I rarely make them and so the holiday season is the perfect time to indulge a little. If you want some ideas, Nutmeg Nanny is doing a 12 cocktails of Christmas series!
ReplyDeleteI honestly have never made a Party Punch before but this sounds so easy I bet I could do it without screwing it up and the kids will probably even drink it! I'll have to give it a whirl. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I never get a cup to myself either...let me know if the tofu trick works!
Holiday punches are great. Any party punch really. It's a great way to stretch a buck for a party as well.
ReplyDeleteFor parties it's good to serve one signature cocktail or punch rather than trying to please every one with lots of variety on liquor. You want to enjoy the party not play bartender all night!
Thanks for Sharing and being the Hostess with the Mostest this week!
Life does not have enough punch in it, does it? I hardly ever have it, but I love it so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I thought I'd return the favor. And now, I'm glad I did. This punch sounds so good. I just wish I was having a party so I could make it!
ReplyDeleteRun on.
Great theme idea, woman! And your place looks so festive here. I'm a holiday drink person, too, I just never end up making them! Sigh. Not enough festivities in my house, I guess!
