My first thought was "baked lentils - GROSS", but then I looked at them more closely and thought "hmmmm, these look kinda healthy". Okay, healthier. Much better than a grab bag of Doritos or Ruffles. So I decided to give these bad boys a try, I bought the Cucumber Dill Baked Lentil Chips. and they were good. They are gluten free, gmo-free (learn more about GMOs here), no trans fat, celiac friendly, etc. etc. Read more at Our Company – Mediterranean Snack Food Company for the different products they offer and all the goodness they contain.
They have 3 grams of fat for 22 chips (non saturated) and 3 grams fiber, and only 2 g of sugar. I am pleased to find a chip that's not so bad for you, and taste good. Unfortunately, they are not sold within a 50 mile radius of my house. I happened to find them at TJ Maxx, in their random food section. (I heart TJ Maxx) This is just my luck. However, all is not lost, b/c you can order everything over the internet!!
AND my favorite Friday snack....
and top it off with 1 or 2 jalapeno slices (sorry, no pic). This may sound strange, but if you like FLAVA and a lil' shhpice, then this is the bomb.com
like an ice cold adult beverage.
My girls' favorite thing to do on Fridays is what we call "hor d'oeuvres night". This was my clever way of not cooking on Friday nights. We would just have 'party food' - problem is...our traditional party food was MO'FATTA, so I kind of got away from that. Now, I'm figuring out healthier apps to reinstate hor d'oeuvre night (or as we like to say in my family "or doovers" - don't ask)! I'm sure there's a post on that in the future.
Have a good weekend!
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...i love "or doovers". especially chicken nuggets, bagel bites, taco dip...etc.
