Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

This week's theme, in honor of International Women's Friendship Month, is COOKIES!!  Anyone who wants to bake me a plate of warm, delicious cookies is definitely someone I call 'friend'!  Apparently, I don't have many friends.  Get to baking people.
Head on over to Think Tank Momma and link up - she has posted some yummy recipes, and others have linked up some awesome cookie recipes too.  I've gained 5 lbs just reading them.

I couldn't decide which recipe I wanted to share.  I have a few already posted, like Low-Fat Oatmeal Cookies with Chocolate Chips!  They were delish.  And the classic and easy No Bake Chocolate Cookies.  Or just for laughs, check this one out.  However, today, I wanted to share these...

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/3 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup mashed ripe banana

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour  I used 1/2 whole wheat

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, banana and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 9-11 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.

These cookies are very good, and not too terrible for you!  And not only is it International Women's Friendship Month, it's also Leukemia Awareness Month!!   Thanks!  Now, let's go swap some cookies!
