1) These are awesome ...Pumpkin Pecan Fruit & Grain Bars by Kashi. (The Dark Chocolate Coconut are also very good.) My sister informed me that if pumpkin were a person, I'd be a stalker. I found this hilarious and mildly disturbing at the same time. But yes, my pumpkin obsession continues. These are really good....you get the flavor of pumpkin pie, but the consistency of a granola bar. (I have texture issues, and don't like the 'mushiness' of pumpkin pie!)
2)
EGG-FREE Waffles!!! If you have a child with allergies, you know how hard it is to find 'convenience' foods at a reasonable price. Yes, I can make homemade egg-free waffles, but I don't always have the time to make everything from scratch. Sometimes, it's nice just to pull something out of the fridge or freezer and have something ready in just a few minutes. My mom told me abt these, and I found them at Harris Teeter. They are egg & diary free and did not cost a small fortune. Score! Thanks Van's!!! (and mom!)
3) Apparently, I need a lot of instruction to use this...
Because my cake looked like this....
You can read my post abt the birthday cake drama here, when I guest posted at Sweet Treats by Jesseca.4) I may be a foodie. How did I discover this? Last night my husband and I had a "date"! We actually went out to dinner with another couple...with NO kids in tow!!!! We went to The Melting Pot. It's a fondue restaurant and was lots of fun. However, it is also right beside a TRADER JOE'S!!! I was super excited about this. So after dinner, I suggested we run on over and check it out. I got some blank stares (and an eyeroll from the hubs I think). My friend asks "what's Trader Joe's?" So I begin explaining the awesomeness of this grocery store. Which is greeted with more stares. Like I had grown two-heads type stares. Apparently, grocery stores don't excite everyone. If I had any cool points...I'm pretty sure I lost them. Whatever!?! How can you NOT get excited about a good grocery store?! Hence, the conclusion, I may be a foodie. and I'm okay with that.
So....those are my little discoveries. The highlight of everyone's weekend I'm sure.
5) I'm mildly sarcastic. hahahaha...that's nothing new. That was discovered back when I was like, 3 - maybe 4, years old.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I should probably get out of my PJ's...considering it's noon.
And since I'm posting on a Saturday, I thought I'd do a little Saturday hoppin'....
A fellow foodie with texture issues. I knew I liked you! ;P
ReplyDeleteAll kidding aside...lucky butt! We don't have a Trader Joe's. Aaaand...I have to drive about 45 minutes to the closest Whole Foods.
*sigh* Publix is where I shop most of the time.
You scored major cool points with me...just sayin'!

I don't have a Trader Joes by me but I hear such great things! I am jealous!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby loves those Kashi bars! I have yet to try one.
Those Van's waffles are great! We use them (bought at Whole Foods) simply because they are all natural! I ahte all the "extra" ingredients in frozen waffles but sometimes we need something fast!
New follower checking out & following your blog! Looking forward to what else comes along!

Hi there, I'm a new follower to your blog! Am going to take a sneak peek at your older entries later tonight after dinner is done - I saw a few recipes that I wouldn't mind taking a better look at! A bit tired of cooking/eating the same old stuff in this Aussie household!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
