Friday's Fab Finds

yep, it's that time again, where I bore tell you about new products I've discovered.  They may not be "new", just new to us, since I live in po'dunk and only have The Wal-Mart and a few other semi-lame stores to choose from to do my shopping.  Nothing against these stores, I'm just really wantin' a Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods.  Anyway, not the point.  And while I'm digressing...just to let everyone know that Miss Number Two had a much better day yesterday.  Free of mean girl drama.  Which was a relief, b/c it was stressing me out.  Thanks for the nice comments.  My sister called to see if she needed to kick some bully booty, so no sis, things are cool.  For those of you who do not have kids....just beware.  Have you ever heard someone say having kids is like wearing your heart on the outside of your body?  Well, there is a lot of truth to that.

But anyway...first new thing I wanted to share is Veggie Straws and Apple Straws.

Sam's Club was handing out samples one day when Mr. Terrible Two and I were shopping.  I checked the ingredient list, and saw they were safe for him to eat and let him try them.  He loved them!  Especially the Apple.  The lady working there thought he was so cute (but of course), and when he smiled at her and said "tank you", she gave him a whole handful of straws.  So, yes, I bought a bag of each!  They have a short ingredient list, with normal ingredients you can actually pronounce and have things like tomato puree, spinach powder (not real sure what that is) and potato flakes.  Obviously they aren't as good as actual vegetables, but I think they are a pretty good alternative to chips.  We all like them, and the Apple Straws are delicious!  They remind me of the crust to an apple pie...the really bad for you ones that you used to get at fast food restaurants with the fried crust and coated in cinnamon sugar.  That's what they remind me of, but they are low in sugar, saturated fat and made with real apples.  Pretty cool.  And, like I said, Mr. Two (who is allergic to eggs and nuts) can have them.  They make a great snack to send to preschool.  You can read more about them at their website Sensible Portions.

Finally, I'm able to get more than just blueberry greek yogurt!  Of course, blueberry is still my favorite, but I'm currently loving the Pomegranate, Pineapple and HONEY.  yum, yum, and yum.   I threw a bunch of stuff together to make a "trail mix" and it's delicious on yogurt :)
A store-bought item my son can eat! No eggs, nuts and no hydrogenated oils!

This stuff is the bomb!  My girls love it too!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

My Yoplait Kids Giveaway ends tonight!

  1. Those chips are delicious! They sell them in Ingles stores (not sure if you even have those down there) and normally they are way marked down.
