It comes all vacuum packed. I immediately opened both flavors and tested them out. Verdict - GOOD! It's not exactly like regular peanut butter...the texture is a little thinner/smoother, and not quite as peanutty in flavor, but one serving is 1 point for Weight Watchers. I am sold! I have been making sandwiches with it and using it in my most favorite smoothie to date, as well as spreading it on graham crackers, apples, etc.
This smoothie does not taste like something "diet" in my opinion. It's pretty awesome, and super nutritious.
Skinny Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
- 1 cup Unsweetened Almond-Coconut Milk {1 point}
- 1 cup raw spinach, packed (a big handful) {0 points}
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries {0 points}
- 1/2 cup frozen peaches* {0 points}
- 1/3 of a banana (frozen is better for smoothie texture)* {0 points}
- 1 Tablespoon Special Dark Cocoa {0 points}
- 2 Tablespoons PB2 (I usually use the chocolate) {1 point}
*You can use any fruits you have on hand. I usually cut up whatever fruit is getting too ripe and stick it in the freezer, then add to my smoothies. This batch was peaches and a few strawberries. I always add blueberries, but I'm sure you could switch those out too.
*For the banana - if you like bananas, go ahead and add as much as you like for a Chocolate PB Banana Smoothie. I don't care for bananas, but I like the texture they provide, so I only use 1/4 to 1/3 of a banana.
Add everything in a blender, and blend very well, until smooth. Add 1/4-1/2 cup ice if needed. You can also add sweetener, but I haven't needed it. (It will depend on the fruit you use)
This makes a big ol' glass, and it tastes yummy. It provides fruits and veggies, protein, but it TASTES YUMMY. (It bears repeating!) And, it's SKINNY. Can I get a whoop!whoop! Now, you can make this with regular peanut butter/nut butter or replacements, but it will change your points value. It will still be a yummy and healthy smoothie however.
Yep, I'm gettin' my skinny on...down 16 lbs with 6 more to goal!! Then I want to lose an extra 5 since all the holiday baking will start very soon :-) That's me, always planning ahead (what I'm going to eat next!)
Happy Friday! Don't forget to check out all the giveaways I have going on right now!
I love this stuff...and my grocer just started carrying both varieties! For the record, ANYTHING made by Walden Farms that is fat free pretty much sucks. I've been burned a couple of times by their products (salad dressings, ff sf chocolate syrup ) I just don't buy anything from that company anymore. Yuck!
ReplyDeletewould the reg. pp2 work thats the only one my stories carry?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I hope you like it as much as I do!
